About P.S.H. Therapy

The gentle and contemporary approach to healing unresolved, persistent negative emotions and stress-related symptoms.

Private Subconscious-mind Healing is a natural, non-intrusive drug-free intervention that offers lasting change.

P.S.H. is unique in that it recognises that it’s not necessary to reveal—or even to be consciously aware of—what is often intensely personal, private information, in order for lasting inner change to occur.

Processing emotions and responses is something we do all the time. However sometimes things feel so difficult or traumatic they overwhelm us and we can’t fully process them.

At the other of the spectrum is a lower level of trauma, likely experienced over a period of many years. Though not as dramatic, these feelings can also be too much to cope with. In fact in many cases we may not even be consciously aware of them.

This results in many of us, as grown adults, suffering the consequences of dynamics that have been established at a subconscious level during our earlier years.

The subconscious mind’s original intent would have been a positive and protective mechanism. Over time though, if we haven’t fully processed emotions that arose from uncomfortable experiences, the subconscious simply responds in the same way now as it best knew how to protect us back then.

What is P.S.H.?

P.S.H. (Private Subconscious-mind Healing) is a natural therapy model that helps people overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD and a wide range of other stress-related disorders.

People seek a P.S.H. therapist to help them solve the problems and symptoms they’ve not been able to solve using conscious effort, willpower, drug therapy or other conventional modalities.

It is a completely independent, stand-alone therapy model that is progressively replacing the more common forms of subconscious-mind techniques.

Rather than merely helping a person cope with issues, P.S.H. is specifically designed to help clients resolve the underlying subconscious cause/s of their presenting problem/s and thereby permanently eliminating them.

The difference with P.S.H.

“The wonderful thing is when we work at the subconscious level, we don’t need to talk about or analyse our feelings or problems in order to resolve them. In fact, it’s usually better not to.”

~ Belinda Hawkins | P.S.H. Therapist

P.S.H. respects the natural dynamics of the human mind by recognising that the subconscious is a private part of us.

That is why P.S.H. doesn’t involve cognitive behavioural intervention, counselling, diagnosis or speculation about the problem and/or its origins. There is no probing and analysis of a person’s inner life as this kind of approach can actually hinder rather than help to change problematic inner dynamics.

With P.S.H. the therapist guides the client to make the necessary changes entirely within the deep subconscious. It’s all about a process of inner communication, so the client doesn’t need to talk or disclose information during that part of the session.

It’s often a great relief for people to know that subconscious problems don’t need to be brought to the conscious mind in order to be resolved. A person doesn’t need to be re-traumatised in order to heal. True emotional healing is a very gentle and private process.

Please note that P.S.H. is not meant to be, nor is it claimed to be a substitute for regular medical treatment. It is the most effective means we have to help people deal quickly, effectively and permanently with a wide range of problems and issues that are the result of subconscious dynamics. If you have concerns about physical ailments or conditions you should seek the advice of your medical practitioner.

“Neuroscience now shows we store our emotional experiences at a subconscious level in our emotional memory. This is why we must first work at this deeper level in order to help truly resolve the difficulties we face…”

When we work with the subconscious, we allow the wisdom of the inner self to take charge of the healing process.

It is the therapist’s job to teach a person how to truly hand over to that subconscious part, then to trust it, to stay out of its way, to be patient with it, and allow it to do whatever it has to do deep inside to bring about the changes that lead to healing.

When we’ve established someone would benefit from subconscious change it’s very simple—the key is to focus uncritically on what they’ve got to do within themselves.”

P.S.H. and chronic pain

Western science is now beginning to have a deeper understanding of the connection between chronic pain and the emotional history of a person.

At the same time, for many people there is now more of a shift into self-awareness and an increasing need for intelligent, simple and effective healing modalities that help people at a deeper level of their consciousness.

For many of us, if we are repeatedly experiencing strong negative emotions (be they conscious or subconscious), they can and do have a direct effect on the health of our bodies.

Many people are surprised to learn that in solving their problems at the subconscious level, it has helped to alleviate some chronic pain symptoms as a result. While there is still much to be discovered in this area, ASTA’s Continuing Feedback Program (CFP) has reported positive progress for people who have suffered chronic pain after receiving P.S.H. therapy.
